Chalet layout
Chalet St Claude is split over three floors with three double bedrooms. The chalet has been designed so that all bedrooms and living areas are south-facing with views over the mountains and Lac du Verney. The chalet comfortably sleeps up to 6 people.
If you are staying with another family, or as a group, the ground floor can be separated by an internal door and can be totally self-contained with its own kitchen/ sitting area and bathroom.
Access to the slopes from the chalet
The chalet is just a short 2.5km (4 minute) drive to the centre of the Vaujany Ski Resort and ski station. There is plenty of covered parking. Alternatively there is a free ski-bus which stops just a couple of minutes’ walk from the front door and drops you by the cable car in Vaujany during the winter. There are also heated ski lockers you can rent so can you can leave all your equipment safe and warm without the hassle of carrying it.
From Vaujany, you can jump on the able lift direct into the Alpe d’Huez ski area, or there is another bubble which takes you to the Montfrais ski area (great for beginners and kids), from which you can then get up to Alp d’Huez by chair lift.

Parking, storage and access
There is free off road parking in the hamlet. We have a secure garage perfect for bikes and ski storage. The entrance hall on the ground floor also has space for ski boots and jackets. The chalet is accessed by its own front door to the rear.
Catering
One of the best things about a self catered chalet is the privacy and space, however it is sometimes nice not to have to cook! We can arrange catering for you, for the duration of your holiday or just for the odd night. You can either eat at home in your own lovely chalet so the children can sleep or if you fancy a change of scene you can eat at a nearby Chalet Hotel*. We can also arrange for fresh French bread and croissants to be delivered by the local bakery every morning*.
